Two families. Different expressions.

Marble

01 / Marble

Marble

Choose a veined direction when pattern and contrast should lead the object. Review background color, vein scale and the placement of visible faces.

Travertine

02 / Travertine

Travertine

Choose a porous, layered direction when texture should lead the collection. Agree on cut direction, filled or unfilled pores and the edge detail.

THE MATERIAL LIBRARY

The same stone. A different surface.

Compare finishes on the same material and shape. Finish names alone do not define gloss, texture or the final care requirements.

01

Honed

A lower-reflection direction for a softer visual result. Agree on the target sheen and inspect flat faces, curves and edges together.

02

Polished

A more reflective direction that changes the way color and veins are seen. Review the sample under the lighting of the intended setting.

03

Brushed / textured

A tactile direction to discuss for the selected stone and geometry. Confirm the physical texture, cleaning access and feasibility on a sample.

    Set the visual direction

Share the stone name, color reference, product type and expected quantity.

  2. 02

    Compare a representative range

Review several samples for tone, vein movement, pores and any visible filling or repairs.

  3. 03

    Approve the finished object

Check the selected finish, edges, assembly, intended use and care on a product-scale sample.

  4. 04

    Keep the approval record

Record the accepted variation and sample date, then use them when reviewing the production brief.

Material questions, answered.

Read the stone care guide
01Can every stone be used for every product?+

No. Geometry, wall thickness, joints, filling, hardware and intended use affect the choice. Start with a material direction, then review feasibility using the drawing and a finished sample.

02Will every piece match the photograph?+

Natural veining, pores and tone vary. Approve a representative range rather than a single image, and agree on the features that are acceptable across a set or repeat order.

03Does sealing make marble or travertine stain-proof?+

Do not treat a sealer as a guarantee against stains or acid etching. Ask for the treatment specification and care instructions for the actual finish and intended use.

04What should I send with a material inquiry?+

Include the material direction, product reference, dimensions, finish, quantity and destination. Add any matching-set, food-contact, water-use, hardware or packaging requirements.
